The warm sun, chirping birds, trees swaying with the wind, the dark blue sea, waves rushing back and forth to the shore, clouds that accent the pristine skies, mountains standing as regal backdrop of it all … such sounds and sights . What could be a better place to unwind, to shed off the stress of the humdrums of city life, to revitalize oneself to cope with the challenges of the coming days once again? And what could be more satisfying than to spend these hours with your family and fellow brothers and sisters in Islam?
Kalemah Centre of Dubai organized a trip to Khor Fakkan, a town of huge mountains, attractive beaches and perfect climate. Its 150-member- Filipino students group assembled early at the Centre. Excitement filled the air as everyone anticipated the drive to Khor Fakkan. This has been a much-awaited trip to most if not to all. The activity aimed at taking a break from the usual Friday Islamic classes and spending a day with the group outside the confines of classrooms while enjoying the panorama of Allah’s creations. Teachers and students, together with some family members joined the trip. The drive may have been long but the pleasure of travelling with friends, classmates and family members is overwhelming for one to feel any exhaustion. Everyone could not suppress his awe at the sight of the mountains and the blue sea that seem to welcome visitors of the town. Emotions could not be contained. Subhan’Allah, Masha‘Allah and Allahu Akbar were spontaneously exclaimed. The sight of trees with their ever green leaves invited relaxation. The sea and its gentle waves, the array of boats and jet skis electrified everyone. Swimming became attractive and even more desirable to those who have contemplated on it days before this trip. Masha ‘Allah!

Also called Feast of the Sacrifice, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honor the willingness of the prophet ʾIbrāhīm (Abraham) to sacrifice his young first-born son Ismā'īl (Ishmael) as an act of submission to God's command and his son's acceptance to being sacrificed.
Here in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, this Feast of the Sacrifice was observed by Kalemah Islamic Center - an Islamic centre and da'wah organization that provides programs for men, women & children. Our goals include presenting Islam to non-Muslims, new Muslim orientation and providing Islamic education for the general Muslim community in the UAE.

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Whoever offers meal to his/her Muslim brother/sister at the time of iftar (the meal eaten by Muslims breaking their fast after sunset during the month of Ramadan), s/he receives as much reward as s/he has earned. Nothing becomes less of the reward of those s/he offered meal to.
(Tirmidhî, Sawm: 82; Ibn-i Majah, Siyam: 40)

With Ramadan, the gates of Heaven are opened and the reward and blessings of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala upon the Muslim brethren increases manifold. Inviting non-muslims to share the Iftar treat with us is one of the unique ways in which the Kalemah New Muslim community encourages calling to Islam. The Muslims who are fasting get an opportunity to "share the khayr" and join each other in making dua' to Allah and break their fast together, while projecting an exemplary message to their non-Muslim friends, family and guests!

Narrated by Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained”. (Sahih Al-Bukhari) [i]
Every year the glorious month of Ramadan comes and goes giving us our chance to strive for excellence. If this happened throughout the year our jihad would be a lot easier. We would no longer be at war with the devil for one, but still at war with ourselves. Now that we know that we have no enemy during the month of Ramadan, we have to embrace that which is good for us; in health, spirituality, mentally, and the love of all mankind in need, and work hard in training our nafs (self) in that which benefits us now and in the hereafter.
All this and more.. at the "Pre-Ramadan Retreat" organized by KALEMAH, in sha'Allah.
O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious).

BEING RESPONSIBLE MUSLIM MEN AND WOMEN
We have noticed several instances of items being left at Kalemah anonymously, both in the men's and ladies' sections. These items are Islamic materials and range from audio cassettes to da'wah materials to copies of the Qur'an. Our staff has been unable to trace the owner/source.
We understand that the owners may be interested in doing secret good deeds as they are of great merit with the Almighty, but we feel that leaving items on Kalemah premises, for whatever purpose or intention, is inappropriate for a number of reasons.
You can also support us by providing us with your details (Click Here) should you wish to contribute in any manner, in order to help us to determine how best to utilize your donations/gifts or to deal with them according to your specific requirements.
What is my purpose in life? A question that never been answered. It’s been so tired to think of it. Like everybody’s doing… work, eat and sleep that’s the way of life .but till when? When it will be done..?
Everybody loves their religion… like me and then we start to feel there has been mistakes in the religion. Is it right that I pray to some statue ? And thinking it’s the same with Jesus? And to think that it’s my GOD ?
For all the struggles in my life, only one question I want to have a right answer … who is my GOD?
One afternoon I was invited to “Kalemah Islamic center” Everybody is welcome there, GOD touches my heart in every single word I heard from them about Islam religion.
Being from a country colonized by western and largely influenced by their culture, Islam was not familiar to me until I came to this country. The drastic change in surroundings and the culture around me made me somewhat amazed. At first, belonging to the youngster generation, life seems to be revolving with worldly things. The main thing aim is to work, earn some money and to help in family financial aspect. Not to mention to be able to acquire trendy items which are rampant in the market. But as time goes by and having to meet a lot of people and the leaves of the calendar falls, Islam is being introduced to me by the customs and the traditions around me. Staying in UAE, introduced Islam little by little through people I worked with, observance of their practices. I appreciated the way they have separate section for ladies and gents. And many more..
