Anonymous Sadaqa Jaáriya at Kalemah - Being Responsible Muslims (Important Notice)
However, we have noticed several instances of items being left at Kalemah anonymously, both in the men's and ladies' sections. These items are Islamic materials and range from audio cassettes to da'wah materials to copies of the Qur'an. Our staff has been unable to trace the owner/source.
We understand that the owners may be interested in doing secret good deeds as they are of great merit with the Almighty, but we feel that leaving items on Kalemah premises, for whatever purpose or intention, is inappropriate for a number of reasons.
Firstly, there is an issue of safety and security, and this should not need further explanation. Alhamdulillah, we are blessed with the safety and security of living in Muslim Lands, but it is not from the behavior of the Muslims to be careless or lackadaisical in such matters.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a person asked the Messenger of Alla (may the best peace and blessings be upon him), “Should I tie my camel and have Tawakkul (trust in Allah for her protection) or should I leave her untied and have Tawakkul.” The Messenger of Allah (may the best peace and blessings be upon him) replied, “Tie her and have Tawakkul.” (Hasan) [Jami At-Tirmidhi]
Secondly, we at Kalemah prefer that anyone who wishes to leave materials at Kalemah, for whatever purpose or intention, inform and take approval from Kalemah staff either in person or through phone/email.
Thirdly, informing Kalemah staff would help us to determine how best to utilize your donations/gifts or to deal with them according to your specific requirements. E.g. a person may leave copies of the Qur'an with English translation, wishing that they be distributed among New Muslims.
Fourthly, the Muslim does things in the proper place, at the proper time and in the proper manner.
