The Imaam covers all of the foundational issues of faith in Islam including, Allah’s ascendancy over the creation, the Qadr (pre-decree), Emaan, the Quran, the Attributes of Allah, the Resurrection, Seeing Allah in the Hereafter, the Companions and much more.

In it, the illustrious scholar Ibn Taymiyyah outlines the principles employed by the scholars in understanding the verses of the Qur’an.

Al-Arba’een al-Nawawi with the additions of Ibn Rajab

The collection of Forty Aḥādīth by Imām Al-Nawawi has been recognized, accepted and appreciated by Muslim scholars for the last seven centuries. Its significance lays in the fact that these selected forty-two Aḥādīth comprise the main, essential and fundamental concepts of Islam. Ibn Rajab added eight Aḥādīth to round it to Fifty.

Imam ibn Hajar al-Asqalani’s Nukhbatul Fikr is a primary text that is commonly used to introduce an individual to the Science of Hadith (Ulum al-Hadith) and the major terminology (Mustalah) associated with it. This introductory text covers the types of chains of transmission (Asaneed), types of acceptable narrations (Maqbul) and the types of rejected narrations (Mardud).

Al-Waraqaat by Imam al-Haramayn ‘Abd al-Malik al-Juwayni

Al-Waraqaat is a renowned Islamic classical text on the subject of Usul al-Fiqh. It paves the way for a foundational education on the sources of Islamic law and the procedures by which the law is derived from the sources. It is called waraqat because it is concise, with the Arabic text (Matn) fitting on roughly five pages. Al- Ajrumiyyah by Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Dau’d as-Sinhaji, known as Ibn Ajrum.

Ajrumiyyah’s status is largely unchallenged as an excellent introduction to this first field of learning, which every scholar must master before delving into other Arabic literature. We find much attention has been paid to it amongst the scholars over a considerable period of time. From the many authored works, this text in particular shines far more clearly than any other, it has withstood the test of time and is still being taught as the first key book in grammar, throughout the world

Aqeedah al-Waasitiyyah by Shaykh ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah

Written in response to a request from a judge from Wasit, Iraq, ibn Taymiyyah penned this book encapsulating the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah Wa’l-Jamaa’ah, with the clearest clarifications and simplest of expressions. It is amongst the best of what has been collected and written on the topic of Aqidah. The clearest indication of this is the great care and attention of the scholars in explaining it and teaching it to the students of knowledge.

Al-Durar al-Bahiyyah by Imam al-Shawkani

Ad-Durar al-Bahiyyah is Matn of Fiqh known, by Imam al-Shawkaani which has the distinction of giving directly the dominant speech in the different issues of Fiqh, without following any particular Madhhab. This makes the text easy to understand for a beginner-level student of knowledge.
